Shawn Jordan reminds me a lot of a kid I grew up with, we’ll call him “Mike”.

You couldn’t call Mike fat but he was also far from skinny, if you were to call him anything, the word “burly” would have come to mind.

Mike was, as we call it in the South, “country strong”. This term is reserved for guys who may not have an impressive bench press but could tow a Cadillac a couple miles using their torso.

Now, unlike Mike, Shawn Jordan was an accomplished high school athlete, winning two state championships in wrestling while lettering at Riverside HS in El Paso, TX, and later going on to play fullback for LSU.

Like Mike, however, Shawn Jordan is a bit of an anomaly. You never see guys like him coming.
