Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott was involved in a minor car crash on his way to practice Wednesday morning, Frisco police say.

The crash happened just after 8 a.m. near the busy intersection of Dallas Parkway and Gaylord Parkway. Police have not said who may have been at fault.

“It was a minor accident and he was fine and everyone involved is fine as well,” Cowboys spokesman Joe Trahan said in an email. “He also reported to The Star in time. All is well.”

Head coach Jason Garrett said the “fender bender” happened about a mile from The Star and that Elliott was “doing fine.”

“He was over here about 20 minutes after it happened,” Garrett said.

Garrett was asked if players would be asked to Uber for the rest of the week.

“We’ll see,” he replied, smiling.

Elliott’s mother tweeted that this wasn’t the first time Elliott was involved in a crash on the way to practice. She said when Elliott was 7 years old, she was involved in a crash and he later grabbed his pads and ran to practice.

David Rykeman with Silver Bullet Construction was working nearby when he said he heard the screech of brakes and then a bang.

“I saw the cars messed up,” he said. “It didn’t look that bad, they were just exchanging insurance information.”
