Yankees manager Aaron Boone taking medical leave of absence to receive pacemaker

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone is taking a medical leave of absence from the team to receive a pacemaker and will undergo surgery at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Fla., on Wednesday, the club announced.

The 47-year-old said in a statement that he has been feeling lightheaded over the last month and has been dealing with low energy and shortness of breath. After several tests and meetings with doctors, it was concluded that Boone has a low heart rate.
