Week 5 Start ‘Em/Sit ‘Em

Written by Kelly Smelser at Punch Drunk Wonderland

We’re 4 weeks and Week 5 is looming. Each week I will be taking a look at some players with favorable matchups that are start-worthy and others with not-so-favorable matchups that you should keep on the bench. If you are a daily fantasy player, some of these starts could be great values. Be sure to check back often for updated player rankings, weekly waiver wire targets, and weekly deep sleepers.

Start ‘Em

Jay Cutler (QB, Chicago Bears) at Kansas City Chiefs

Yeah, yeah. He has a punchable Cutler face. But, he has plenty of upside. Chicago has looked rough and Cutler is coming back from injury. The good thing is there is light at the end of the tunnel. He’ll have a great matchup against a Chiefs defense that is giving up a ton of points to QBs, and he’ll gain even more upside of Alshon Jeffery can make it on the field for Week 5.

Jameis Winston (QB, Tampa Bay Bucs) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Winston has had a rocky start as a rookie, but he’s shown flashes. This week’s matchup against the Jags has the makings of a clumsy shootout. Jacksonville’s defense is giving up an average of 18.0 fantasy points to opposing QBs. Winston should have a healthy Mike Evans to go along with the threat the VJax poses, so the tools are there. It could be a big week for the rookie.

Justin Forsett (RB, Baltimore Ravens) vs. Cleveland Browns

The Baltimore run game has left much to be desired thus far in the 2015 season. That said, Forsett is a more than capable back and the matchup is very good this week against a bad Cleveland run defense. The Browns defense is giving up an average of nearly 20 fantasy points per week to opposing running backs. Feel confident in Forsett for Week 5.
