Two Titans Players Beat A Man For Talking Crap About Their Playing Time

Two Titans players face a federal civil lawsuit after a man accused one of beating him into unconsciousness, while the other one served as a lookout, outside a Nashville bar on NFL Draft night.

The accuser, Dante Satterfield, filed the lawsuit Wednesday against wide receiver Tajae Sharpe and offensive lineman Sebastian Tretola, two weeks after the group was allegedly watching at the bar when Tennessee selected receiver Corey Davis out of Western Michigan at No. 5 and got into a heated argument over the selection. Sharpe grew particularly upset when Satterfield suggested Davis would challenge him for playing time, the lawsuit said, according to Fox 17 Nashville.

Soon after midnight, Sharpe and Tretola told Satterfield to meet them outside the bar, where Sharpe jumped him and Tretola watched, Satterfield alleges. A passerby later spotted Satterfield lying on the ground and called 911 to take him to a local hospital, where he claims he remained unconscious for 12 hours.

According to the lawsuit, Satterfield suffered a concussion, facial bruising and broken bones, a perforated eardrum and other injuries, and is seeking at least $500,000 for expenses relating to “physical trauma, emotional distress [and] humiliation.”

Sharpe’s agent, Blaine Roche, fervently denied the allegations against his 22-year-old client.

“The claims are false and ridiculous,” Roche said in a statement to the TV station. “Unfortunately this is a classic shakedown attempt. Tajae categorically denies any involvement whatsoever and looks forward to vindicating his name and focusing on what matters most — football.”

The Titans acknowledged the lawsuit but denied further comment.

Both Sharpe and Tretola are entering their second seasons with the Titans. Sharpe, a fifth-round selection in 2016 out of UMass, started 10 games last season, accumulating 522 yards and two touchdowns. Tretola, a sixth-round pick and inactive for all but two games last season, has yet to step on the field as a pro.
