In honor of All Hallows Eve soon upon us I has compiled a list of the “scariest” nicknames in MMA history. I use the term scary loosely. Nonetheless, here are my Top 15. And why did no one ask how they came up with these names?
1) Wanderlei “The Axe Murderer” Silva
Wanderlei was one of the best in Japan from 2000-2005. His intense stare downs before fights and violent finishes warrant this nickname. He hacked his victims in the cage up and left them in a pool of blood. This is the number one nickname in MMA history.
2) Carlos “The Natural Born Killer” Condit
This name sends a serious message and after looking at some of his opponents post-fight, the name fits. Carlos will cut some dudes up with elbows or put you to sleep with submissions.
3) Giva “The Arm Collector” Santana
Owning 13 armbar submissions, this nickname makes sense and it is also quite terrifying. Sounds like a great “B” movie starring Bruce Campbell.
