Predicting the B1G order of finish

The Big Ten basketball conference has been at the top of the heap for nearly half a decade, yet a national championship continues to elude the deepest and most difficult conference to navigate.

Last season saw Michigan State make an incredible run to the Final Four and were joined there by the expected crew from Wisconsin. The Badgers ended up righting the wrong against the Kentucky Wildcats, only to fall apart late in the national championship and see Duke slash and drive their way to victory.

Two newcomers had opposites seasons, with the Terps of Maryland making a push for the top of the conference and Rutgers holding serve at the bottom of it.

Will any of those things change in 2015-16? Let’s see how we see things shaping up for the Big Ten this season.

 

1 – Maryland Terrapins — Even with Dez Wells gone, the Terps have arguably the best backcourt in the Big Ten. Add in one of the best overall recruits in the country, Diamond Stone, at center and a returning Jay Leyman and this team has the pieces to take over as the No. 1 team in the Big Ten. Will it be able to put it all together and handle highly increased expectations? That is the biggest question facing this team.
