Whenever the media and fans want to talk about the Patriots biggest rivalries, the teams listed are usually the Jets, Bills, Ravens, Broncos, and Colts. All five of those teams have quite the history against the Patriots whether it’s memorable playoff games, marquee matchups during the regular season, or a weeks worth of smack talk and hype.
So what about the New York Giants? Every time these two teams face each other it ends up being one of the best games of the season. This matchup features two of the better coaches in football. Bill Belichick and Tom Coughlin are the NFL’s two-winningest active coaches, and among the top 10 all-time. They’ve won six Super Bowls between them. Of course, the two Super Bowls Coughlin won were against Belichick’s Patriots.
How about their quarterbacks, Tom Brady and Eli Manning? They started each of those Super Bowls. We all know Brady lost two Super Bowls to Eli Manning and the Giants, but did Brady really lose those games? We could argue and debate all day on who the better quarterback is, but the stats will remind everyone that Tom Brady won four Lombardi Trophies, including a 28-24 victory over Seattle last February in Super Bowl XLIX.
