Woodstock police detectives were pursuing leads and tips Monday morning in the search for former Atlanta Braves outfielder Otis Nixon.

Nixon, 58, who was reported missing by his girlfriend after he did not show up for a Saturday morning tee time at a local golf course. Foul play is not suspected in the disappearance.

Nixon was last seen leaving his home Saturday morning in a gray 2011 Range Rover with Georgia tag CFP-9010. He was wearing a black long sleeve-shirt, black sweatpants and a black baseball cap, with black Adidas shoes with white stripes.

Woodstock police early Monday renewed calls for help in Nixon.

“We are continuing to focus on Mr. Nixon’s well being,” the police department said in a Facebook post. “We ask that everyone focus on him being found, safe.”

Woodstock Police public information officer Brittany Duncan said the department received a “decent number” of tips after it posted alerts on social media seeking information in the case. Duncan said she did not know if the car had been recovered.

If you see Nixon, police ask that you call 911 or 770-592-6012.

Nixon joined the Braves prior to the 1991 season and helped spark the worst-to-first season, but was suspended for 60 days after failing a drug test and missed the team’s trip to the World Series. His drug problems were highly publicized throughout his 17-year career.
