Nelson Agholor Accused of Rape

So much for the Eagles having a quiet six weeks before training camp.

The team broke mandatory minicamp last Thursday, the last team activity until July 27th, and less than three hours into the time off, receiver Nelson Agholor was involved in an incident at a Philadelphia strip club that has resulted in him being accused of sexual assault.

Although no charges have been filed, the situation is still a serious one for Agholor, a second-year player that was a first-round draft pick in 2015.

Here is everything you need to know about the incident and what could come next.

When, where and who: Following practice on Thursday, Agholor went toCheerleaders Gentlemen’s Club in South Philadelphia. Cheerleaders is located minutes from Lincoln Financial Field and the team’s practice facility.

Police say the incident happened around 3 p.m., just hours after the team finished their final practice.

In addition to Agholor, it has been reported that linebacker Connor Barwin and defensive tackle Fletcher Cox were also at the club. Barwin has released a statement saying he was at Cheerleaders, but only for a little bit, and before the alleged assault.

What happened: A police report for the incident has not yet been released, and Agholor has yet to publicly tell his side of the story, but a person with knowledge of the situation who requested anonymity has informed NJ Advance Media that the incident is the result of a dispute over money.

The source told NJ Advance Media that Agholor and the dancer agreed to go to a private room for an hour on Thursday afternoon, but the dancer left shortly after the two entered the room.

The person with knowledge of the incident said Agholor had agreed to pay the woman $1,400 for their time in the private room, but the dancer left before the agreed upon time and Agholor paid her $800. The person said the dancer wanted the full amount.

The dancer left the bar, was picked up by a friend, and the person said she never informed management of the alleged sexual assault.

According to the same source, multiple dancers have told management that Agholor did nothing wrong, including a dancer who was with another Eagles’ player throughout the night.

The dancer informed police of the incident roughly six hours later, at around 9 p.m. Thursday evening. Agholor was in Florida as of Friday morning.
