MLB players to owners, Rob Manfred: ‘Tell us when and where’

Major League Baseball players have adopted a new mantra.

On Monday, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Dustin May tweeted a video that featured multiple players and included a simple caption:

“We ready… Tell us when and where.”

Later that day during an interview taped for ESPN’s “Return to Sports” special that aired on Monday evening, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred explained he’s “not confident” there will be any season after the latest round of negotiations between owners and the MLB Players Association ended with the union rejecting a 72-game proposal that offered pay roughly equal to fully prorated salaries for 50 games.

Manfred’s comments led to a handful of players responding to the commissioner via Twitter.

The players aren’t remaining silent.

Los Angeles Angels three-time Most Valuable Player Mike Trout, Philadelphia Phillies superstar Bryce Harper, Washington Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer, New York Yankees right-hander Gerrit Cole and several others all have a unified message for Manfred and owners:

Tell us when and where.
