It Seems As If Brady Did Not Have A Concussion This Year

The NFL on Wednesday responded to comments made by Gisele Bundchen, the wife of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who said earlier in the day on CBS This Morning that her husband had a concussion last year and that “he has concussions pretty much. We don’t talk about it, but he does have concussions.”

Brady has not been listed with a concussion on New England’s public injury report dating back to 2003, per the Boston Herald. Last season, he was only listed with thigh, ankle and knee issues.

“We have reviewed all reports relating to Tom Brady from the unaffiliated neurotrauma consultants and certified athletic trainer spotters who worked at Patriots’ home and away 2016 season games as well as club injury reports that were sent to the league office,” a league spokesman said Wednesday.

“There are no records that indicate that Mr. Brady suffered a head injury or concussion, or exhibited or complained of concussion symptoms. Today we have been in contact with the NFLPA and will work together to gather more information from the club’s medical staff and Mr. Brady. The health and safety of our players is our foremost priority and we want to ensure that all our players have and continue to receive the best care possible.”

The Patriots declined to comment on Bundchen’s claim earlier Wednesday. Brady’s agent, Don Yee, told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport he had “no comment” on the claim as well.

The 39-year-old led the Patriots to a Super Bowl LI title in 2016, winning the game’s MVP honors in the process. Brady has not missed a game due to injury since 2008.
