Holy Holm: Can She Shock the World?

I’m sure many of you think Holly Holm has about as much of a chance against Ronda Rousey as Bruce Buffer has at submitting Cain Velasquez.

And while it’s tough to argue with that logic, I don’t mind rolling up my sleeves every once in awhile.

Do I think Ronda Rousey is going to taste defeat for the first time in her five year career?

Not likely.

But do I think Holly Holm is someone who shouldn’t be overlooked by anyone?

Most definitely.

You see, Holm presents a very new problem for “Rowdy”. Throughout Rousey’s spree of dominance, she’s yet to face a truly elite striker.

And that, my friends, is what Holly Holm is.

Sporting a record of 33-2-3 in professional boxing, Holm has managed to finish six of her nine MMA opponents by way of strikes. A two-time WBF boxing champion, Holm has proven herself capable of dispatching her foes with her overwhelming arsenal of kicks and punches.

Holm’s chances of winning however, have everything to do with the opening rounds. Don’t worry, I’ll elaborate.
