The San Francisco Giants placed closer Jake McGee and right-hander Logan Webb on the injured list on Sunday after both pitchers received the COVID-19 vaccine, according to The Associated Press.
Both players are still feeling the effects of the vaccine and the Giants are hopeful they’ll only miss one or two games.
McGee blew a save for the first time this season on Saturday when he gave up two runs in the ninth inning against the Miami Marlins. The 34-year-old has recorded six saves, posting a 2.16 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 8.1 innings.
