Diaz, McGregor Almost Come to Blows

With emotions still running high from their post-UFC 196 press conference skirmish Thursday, Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz continued their war of words.

The duo, who meet in a welterweight main event on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, did split-screen media interviews following their confrontation in Las Vegas.

And needless to say, they disagreed on how things went down. Appearing on FOX Sports 1’s “FSLive: Jay and Dan,” the duo somehow managed to get their views of the events out in between all the expletives they hurled at one another.

“The man was afraid to look me dead in the eye,” said McGregor. “So he put a frame out in front of him and I quickly snatched it and broke his wrist.”

Diaz didn’t think much of McGregor’s attempt to slap his hand away.

“Yeah, you got a scared little [expletive] shot on the hand and [expletive],” Diaz sputtered.

“The medics are in with him now,” McGregor retorted. “His wrist will never be the same. Like his bum knee, like his bum leg.”

Predictably, the UFC featherweight champion turned the discussion to money.

“My socks cost more than the whole suit you have on, you little bum,” he said. “I could buy and sell you a hundred times.”

While Diaz’s response launched the next round of bleeped-out expletives, the subject of class warfare came up again toward the end of the interview.

“You’re a rich kid,” Diaz said. “Rich kids shouldn’t fight ever. Real people fight. Real people fight. Not [expletive] rich kids. You were born rich.”

On that count, Diaz appeared to get under McGregor’s skin.
