Free agent outfielder Delmon Young threatened to kill and then choked a hotel worker in Miami early Sunday night, according to a police report obtained by USA TODAY Sports.

Young, 30, faces a felony battery charge in this latest incident that also involves allegations of inappropriate slurs, this time directed at a valet attendant at the Viceroy Miami hotel who refused to let Young onto an elevator that led to a club that had closed for the night.

“Stupid Cuban,” Young told the attendant per the police report. “Open the (expletive) door.”

Young walked away briefly, but returned shortly thereafter.

“I’m gonna (expletive) kill you, you Latin piece of (expletive),” Young allegedly said.

WPLG-TV was the first news outlet to report the incident.

Young then reached over the valet podium and grabbed the attendant by the neck and “continued to strangle him for 5 or 6 seconds,” according to the police report. After the attendant broke free, the police were called.

Officers from the Miami Police Department responded to the scene of the alleged incident and later found Young at his condo, located near the hotel. Young answered the door “naked from the waist down” and “was unsteady on his feet and spoke with slurred speech,” one of the officers wrote in the report.

Young was asked to put clothes on and provide identification. Young told officers he didn’t know anything about the incident, according to the report.
