Week 6 Start ‘Em/Sit ‘Em

Week 6 is here. Each week I will be taking a look at some players with favorable matchups that are start-worthy and others with not-so-favorable matchups that you should keep on the bench. If you are a daily fantasy player, some of these starts could be great values. Be sure to check back often for updated player rankings and weekly waiver wire targets.

Start ‘Em

Colin Kaepernick (QB, San Francisco 49ers) vs. Baltimore Ravens

Kaepernick finally looked pretty good for the first time this season in his Week 5 matchup. Sooner or later the team is going to realize they need to maximize his potential by giving him more freedom. He’s good, but he won’t stay afloat trying to be a pocket passer alone. All of that said, I really like Kaep going into the Niners’ Week 6 matchup versus Baltimore. He’s coming off a nice week and this week he’ll be facing a Ravens defense that is giving up the most fantasy points to opposing QBs. Let’s get a little confidence back in Kaepernick.

Jay Cutler (QB, Chicago Bears) at Detroit Lions

Cutler had a solid performance last week and things are looking up as receiver Alshon Jeffery should be making it back to the field soon. Maybe even this week. The Bears face the Detroit Lions in Week 6, and that certainly bodes well. The Lions have been an embarrassment thus far in 2015. Their defense is giving up nearly 20 points per week to opposing QBs. It’s a good week to play Cutler.
