Below I will highlight a few guys that I perceive will provide value for their price on DraftKings for Week 2 in the NFL.
Quarterback:
Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints ($7,800): If you want to spend up on QB this week, Brees is the play at home against the Bucs. Rookie Marcus Mariota crushed the Bucs last week with 4 TD passes and a league leading 13.1 yards per attempt. Brees should do even better in the Superdome. Brees averaged 311 passing yards and 2 touchdowns per game at home last season. He is the play if you are paying up for QB and great for 50/50 or cash games.
Carson Palmer, Arizona Cardinals ($6,700): Palmer has been an elite fantasy QB while he has been healthy the last 2 seasons. In his 7 healthy games, he has thrown for an average of 276 yards and 2 passing touchdowns per game. The Bears have been constantly carved up in the secondary the past couple years and allowed 3 passing touchdowns in Week 1. Palmer makes for a great play in both 50/50 cash games, as well as GPPs.
Marcus Mariota, Tennessee Titans ($6,000): I mentioned Mariota’s day in the Drew Brees section, but it was truly historic. He is the second QB ever to have 4 passing touchdowns in his first start. He didn’t even show off his running skills with only two rushes. His opponent, the Browns, were not impressive in Week 1 allowing 31 points to the Jets offense headlined by the competent Ryan Fitzpatrick. Mariota is a very nice GPP upside play.
