NFL free agency tracker 2022: Live updates on news, rumors, signings and trades

NFL free agency for the 2022 season is here, and if the week leading up to the event is any indication, things could get crazy quickly as the new league year begins.

In the week leading up to free agency, NFL teams agreed to four trades involving big-name players. Russell Wilson, Carson Wentz, Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper were traded in that order over a five-day span.

The trade market has cooled off a bit since those deals were struck. However, quarterbacks like Baker Mayfield and Jimmy Garoppolo still available, so we will surely see some more trades as NFL free agency gets underway.

Of course, there’s also the free agent part of free agency. There isn’t a Tom Brady-type prize this offseason — well, there wasn’t until he came back, at least — but there are plenty of quality playmakers available at receiver, on defense and along the offensive line. JC Jackson, Von Miller, Allen Robinson and Tyrann Mathieu highlight the most recognizable names on the market, but there is plenty of talent among the top 50 available free agents.

The NFL’s so-called legal tampering period begins at noon ET on Monday, March 14. At that point, we will start to see deals come together as teams tackle the next phase in roster building.

Sporting News will be tracking all of the notable NFL free agent signings and trades during the 2022 NFL offseason.
