Barry Bonds may be coming back to the MLB.

The Miami Marlins are reportedly considering bringing in all-time MLB home run leader as their hitting coach reports Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.

As Heyman notes, the Marlins have been discussing a move for weeks.

Team higherups have quietly been discussing this possibility for weeks.

Bonds, known as a brilliant tactician, has worked as a special spring instructor for the Giants on occasion. It isn’t known whether he’s willing to move across the country for such a hitting coach job, but he has been working on brandishing his image and has a keen love of coaching.

Frank Menechino is expected back, but the Marlins would have two hitting coaches to accommodate Bonds.

Bonds, of course, has an asterisk beside his records due to his involvement with PEDs. Nonetheless, he’s a solid candidate for the position. Bonds has a career .444 OBP and knows a thing or two about hitting-  even if his achievements are largely tainted.
