Arsenal Beats Tottenham in Capital One Cup, Fans Tear up Signage at White Hart Lane

North London is red after Arsenal’s win against Tottenham in the Capital One Cup after Mathieu Flamini’s brace helped the Gunners advance to the fourth round of the tournament.

Flamini had the Gunners flying after his goal in the 26th minute silenced the crowd at White Hart Lane to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. An Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain shot was parried away by Spurs keeper Michel Vorm, but Flamini was able to convert on the rebound for the goal.

Spurs were able to equalize in the second half thanks to some help from the opposition. Andros Townsend took a shot from the right side that looked harmless, however Ospina came off his line and at the same time Calum Chambers tried to clear the ball away. Chambers’ clearance found it’s way right into his own net to give Tottenham the equalizer in the 56th minute.

In the 78th minute, it was Flamini to the rescue again as he scored a magnificent goal off a volley to seal the victory for the Gunners. A bad pass by Alexis Sánchez was deflected up by Spurs defender Federico Fazio and when it fell it found the feet of Mathieu Flamini who ripped it into the bottom corner of the net for the 2-1 winner.
